  • This report was submitted to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) by International Resources Group (IRG).
  • The authors present the report on assisted natural regeneration (ANR) for three departments in Niger--Magaria, Matameye, and Mirriah.
  • They spoke with cultivators employing ANR practices in these areas--that is, actively protecting and managing the regrowth of their woody species of economic value.
  • They end by discussing the many positive impacts of assisted natrual regeneration and farmer managed natural regeneration (FMNR).
