Description

  • The mission of this project is to restore 20 hectares of native forest to Turvo and Boa Ventura de Sao Roque, in Paraná, Brazil.
  • The project goals include: engagement of landowners; mapping of restoration areas; isolation of degradation factors; promote natural regeneration; plant seedlings; train landowners and technicians on restoration ecology.
  • Since the project began in December 2010, the restoration areas were defined and fencing and planting has begun.
  • Future plans include a 4 year monitoring system in which the number of planted trees, number of trees from natural regeneration, % of grass and soil cover, and species diversity are considered.
