Description

  • The mission of this project is to restore 45 hectares of native forest Turvo, Parana state, Brazil.  
  • Specific goals include: engagement of landowners; mapping of restoration areas; isolation of degradation factors; promote natural regeneration; plant seedlings; train landowners and technicians on restoration ecology.
  • Since the project began in November 2010, the restoration areas have been defined and planting and fencing has begun.
  • Long term goals are to monitor the project for four years to evaluate the number of planted trees, the number of trees from natural regeneration, the percent of grass and soil cover, and the species diversity.
  • All of the planted species are native.
