Description

Reforestation Project Mostly Inactive
  • The mission of this project is to establish a screening trial using mostly native species in reforestation in order to evaluate the potential for various species to succeed in the plantation environment in Sarapiqui, Costa Rica.
  • The plantations were established in between 1987 and 1990 using 84 timber species
  • From their work, a narrowed list of species were named as prime targets for reforestation based on high survival rates, commercial value, and ecological benefits.
