  • Los autores presentan una lista preliminar de las plantas vasculares y su hábitat y el rango altitudinal locales que se encuentran en los bosques sub-andinos de Santander, Colombia.
  • En total se identificaron 409 especies de 226 géneros y 105 familias, las familias más comunes fueron Rubiaceae (18), Asteraceae (10), Melastomataceae (10), y Orchidaceae (10).
  • Otros estudios documentan un número mucho mayor de especies, lo que puede reflejar diferencias en la intensidad de muestreo o la fisiología de la zona de estudio.
  • Varias de las especies encontradas se caracterizan como especie amenazada en Colombia, como Ceroxylon vogelianum, Geonoma orbignyana yWettinia praemora (casi amenazada), Colombobalanus sobresale, Quercus humboldtii y Podocarpus oleifolus (vulnerable) y Aniba perutilus (peligro crítico).
  • Se encontraron dos probables nuevas especies de Erythroxylum y Brysonima.

  • Several of the species found are characterized as threatened in Colombia, such as Ceroxylon vogelianum, Geonoma orbignyana, and Wettinia praemora (almost threatened), Colombobalanus excels, Quercus humboldtii, and Podocarpus oleifolus (vulnerable) and Aniba perutilus (critical danger).
  • Two possible new species were found of Erythroxylum and Brysonima.
